Pastoral Note
The parish gives thanks for the life and ministry of parishioner Lucy Hale, who attended St. Paul's for more than 75 years, having become a member in 1941. Lucy died on March 25; a funeral will be held for her on Saturday, April 8, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's. Keeping a Holy Lent: Spiritual Practices
On Sunday, April 9, we will be offering the final session in our Lenten series on spiritual practices. Self-examination and confession have long been vital practices in Christianity. Norvene Vest, a spiritual director, scholar of Christian spirituality, and published author, will lead us in a session of how self-examination is done and its relation to confession and absolution. Copies of Norvene's book, What is Your Practice? Lifelong Growth in the Spirit, will be available. The cost is $15, and the topics covered include Gratitude, Prayer, Imagination, Integrity, and Service. Please join us in the lounge after the 10 a.m. service.
Easter Lilies
Consider purchasing an Easter lily to remember or honor a loved one or friend. The lilies will be used to decorate St. Paul’s and to add to the beauty of our worship during this joyous season. A $30 contribution is suggested. To order a lily, please contact the church office no later than Monday, April 10: or 434-295-2156.
An Invitation from the Flower Guild
The Flower Guild invites the congregation to join in the joy of adorning the church in blossoms for Easter. Please help us to create the window baskets on Saturday, April 15, after the 9 a.m. Holy Saturday service. No experience needed, all are welcome. It is great fun! Additionally, please bring any lovely flowering blossoms, branches, or greenery that you may have in your garden to the church by Saturday morning at 9 a.m. to be used for Easter.
Welcoming Events for Will
We have scheduled a variety of welcoming events over the next few months to provide opportunities for parishioners to meet and welcome Will. The full list of events may be found here. Signup sheets for these events will be available in the parish hall after all three services this Sunday. You may also add your name to one of the event lists by contacting the church office at or 434-295-2156.
