Welcome to St. Paul’s Memorial Church Children and Family Ministries

Children are an important part of the St. Paul’s Memorial community. In addition to weekly Sunday School, our children and families are given the opportunity to grow in their faith through a diversity of worship, formation, opportunities to serve, and intentional times of fun and fellowship.

New faces are always welcome, so bring your children and their friends! Parents are key to the success of these programs, so we hope that you will become involved! For more information about our Children’s Programs please contact E.D. Rambo at 434-295-2156 or at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. NURSERY Our Nursery is open from 8:45 am to noon for children from birth to 3 years old. The Nursery is located on the 1st floor of the Education Wing.

SUNDAY SCHOOL For Pre-K through 5th grade children, Sunday School is from 9:00-9:45 am. Our curriculum is Godly Play, a Montessori based program. Classes meet on the 2nd floor of the Education Wing.

YOUTH GROUP We have a dynamic Youth Group for those in grades 6-12. The group has several meeting times, including a 9:00 am Sunday bible study.

CHILDREN AND WORSHIP We welcome children of all ages for all services. For children who prefer to stay in Church, we have “Church Bags” with books and coloring materials at all entrances to the Nave. In addition, to the left of the holy table is our “Children’s Area” with bible-themed books, puzzles, and coloring materials. We encourage you to use this space as we find that being close to the “center of the action” allows for more engagement in the service.

ACOLYTE PROGRAM Active participation in worship can be a great way to develop a child's faith. We welcome children (2nd grade and up), as well as youth and adults to serve as acolytes at our Sunday services.

COMMUNITY EVENTS During the year there are many opportunities for families to participate in community-building outside of Sunday Morning. Past events have included Pumpkin Carving, St. Nicholas Night, the Epiphany Yule Log Hunt at Ash Lawn-Highlands, Family Game Nights, and Parent’s Fellowship Potlucks.
